HOW CAN I RECYCLE MY glo™ DEVICE?

Our take back scheme is a way to ensure environmentally friendly disposal. We offer our users to easily recycle their device. If you are no longer using your glo™ device or if it is no longer working, you will find steps on how to return your device below.

Recycling of glo™ batteries in Switzerland

The disposal of used batteries in Switzerland is regulated and the Federal Office for the Environment (FOEN) has commissioned INOBAT to supervise the recycling process. Consumers are obliged to bring used batteries to a collection point. All sales outlets are obliged to take them back free of charge. British American Tobacco Switzerland (BAT) pays the advance disposal tax (“TEA”) ) on the batteries used in glo™ products sold in Switzerland and thus participates in the collection, transport and recycling of household batteries as well as in information campaigns for the trade and the population. BAT has set up its own collection and recycling system for the batteries used in glo™ products sold in Switzerland.

To ensure environmentally friendly disposal, BAT offers our consumers the possibility to return used glo™ devices to us. These are then safely disposed of by us, ensuring that they do not end up in the landfill.

This is how you can do it:

1) Take your undamaged glo™ device you do not use anymore (please send only 1 or maximum 2 devices at the same time, per box).

2) Put the Device(s) in a cardboard box and pack the Device(s) safely (conditions apply; see below for more info).

3) Agree to the requirements for returning your glo™ Device(s) by ticking the below boxes.

4) Download and print the return label below - we will take care of shipping fees for you.

5) Stick the return label on the box and leave it at a local post office.

REQUIREMENTS (*) FOR RETURNING YOUR glo™ DEVICE(S):

not to ship more than 2 (two) glo™ devices per box with this return label;

not to ship a glo™ device if its battery or the device itself is visibly damaged or modified; and

to ship the glo™ device(s) in a cardboard box in a secure and safe way: it is recommended to use the original glo™ device box or, for instance, the PostPac N° 0. Please make sure that the content inside the box is wedged and padded.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN glo™ AND AN ELECTRONIC CIGARETTE?

<p>glo™ is a tobacco heated product (THP), whereas electronic cigarettes do not contain tobacco and can be with or without nicotine. With regards to THP the tobacco is heated with the glo™ device, while when using e-cigarette the liquid is vaporized.</p>

HOW OLD DO I HAVE TO BE TO BUY glo™?

<p>You have to be 18+ to purchase any glo™ product. glo™ is only suitable for adult tobacco consumers.</p>

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN glo™ AND A TRADITIONAL CIGARETTE?

<p>glo™ is a different way to enjoy tobacco. Unlike traditional cigarettes that burn tobacco, the glo™ tobacco heater heats tobacco via induction technology. As a result, there is no ash and no smoke since the tobacco is only heated up to 270 degrees Celsius.</p>

WHERE CAN I USE THE glo™ TOBACCO HEATER?

<p>You may be allowed to use your glo™ device in a few more places than traditional cigarettes, depending on Cantonal regulations, as it doesn’t produce ash or smoke. It is, however, important to check the rules & regulations applicable in public areas, restaurants, etc. as it may be restricted to use alternative devices such as vapour or tobacco heating products. Also please be mindful about your environment when consuming glo™ in the presence of pregnant women and children.</p>

WHAT ARE THE ADVANTAGES OF glo™?

<p>glo™ is a different way of consuming tobacco and has several advantages over a traditional cigarette. Since the tobacco is heated with glo™ and not burned, there are no smoke and no ash*. That is also to say that you don’t need a lighter or an ashtray when using your glo™ device. Finally, there are up to 90% less toxic substances with glo™ tobacco heater compared to cigarettes**</p> <p>*Compared to a cigarette when smoked. WHAT DOES glo™ RELEASE INTO THE ENVIRONMENT?

HOW HOT DOES glo™ HEAT THE TOBACCO?

<p>The glo™ tobacco heater heats the neo™ sticks up to 270 degrees Celsius through induction technology.</p>

HOW DOES HEATING INDUCTION WORK?

<p>Inside the glo™ tobacco heating device, an alternating current is passed through a wire coil. The effect of the alternating current is the generation of an oscillating magnetic field. This then allows eddy currents to flow through the “resistance” of the material, causing the heating chamber to heat up the tobacco neo™ sticks.</p>

WHAT IS THE MAXIMUM HEATING TEMPERATURE ?

<p>Max heating temperature is 285C in Standard mode and 300C in Boost mode.</p>

WHAT IS THE SESSION LENGTH ?

<p>In Standard mode, the net session length has been increased to 4mins 30s. The session starts after 20s preheating. In Boost mode, the net session length is 3mins. The session starts after 15s pre-heating.</p>

DOES THE DEVICE OFFER CUSTOMISATION ?

<p>glo Hyper Pro is available in many gorgeous colour combinations.<br>Obsidian Black, Lapis Blue, Ruby Black, Jade Teal, Purple Sapphire<br>However, the device look is not customisable. </p>

WHAT DOES THE DIAL DO?

<p>TasteSelect™ dial is a new feature of the Hyper Pro device. It allows in one move to open the heating chamber and select the heating mode: Standard for longer indulgence, or Boost for more intense taste satisfaction.</p>

DOES THE DEVICE NEEDS CLEANING? HOW DO I CLEAN THE DEVICE?

<p>The device has a round cleaning door on the bottom. Please pick it up with your finger, open the door, apply the brush to clean the heating chamber from both ends, then close the door and use a little pressure to put it back in place.</p>

WHY IS THE PACKAGING DIFFERENT ?

<p>The gloTM Hyper Pro starter kit has a new, compact packaging construction. We are working to remove as much unnecessary packaging as possible, and continued to incorporate recycled content </p>

WHY IS THERE NO POWER ADAPTER IN THE STARTER KIT?

<p>gloTM devices recharge via a USB-C port which requires a compatible adapter (please see the user guide for more information). We realise most of our consumers already own multiple power adapters from either previous glo devices or other electronic devices. Rather than supplying another unneeded power adapter, we have removed these to reduce Electrical and Electronic Equipment (EEE) waste generated by our products.</p>

WHY THE USB CABLE IS SO SHORT ?

<p>Our device recharges via a standard USB-C port. USB-C cables are widely available nowadays, and most of our consumers already have them. However, for your convenience our starter kit contains a compimentary basic, charge-only USB cable.</p>

HOW MANY BACK-TO-BACK SESSIONS DOES THE DEVICE DELIVER ?

<p>Hyper Pro is designed to deliver up to 3 consecutive sessions under typical room temperatures (15 - 25°C). At higher temperatures, the number of consecutive sessions the device can perform may be reduced. Please refrain from using the device outside of its recommended temperature range (0°C-40°C) as the device may not work or get irreversible battery damage.</p>

PARAMETERS OF THE SESSION (NUMBER OF SESSIONS, CHARGE TIME).

<p>Hyper Pro offers up to 20 sessions on a single charge. It can be charged in less than 90 minutes using the recommended power adapters (12.5W (5V2.5A or 9V1.5A) and USB-C cable supporting USB-PD protocol. </p>

CAN I USE POWER BANK FOR CHARGING?

<p>It is possible. If you start the session when the device is connected to the charger, it will stop charging. To resume the charging process, please reconnect the device.</p>

CAN I CHANGE THE HEATING MODE DURING THE SESSION ?

<p>No - the mode selection happens before the session start, rotation of the dial after this moment will not change the heating mode.</p>

WHAT HAS CHANGED? WHAT DOES THIS TECHNOLOGY DO?

<p>In the latest generation of Hyper, we have implemented our new HeatBoost™ technology to unlock a way better taste satisfaction. Our new HeatBoost™ technology optimised the heating engine,  electric circuitry and temperature profiles to achieve better energy efficiency and allow for higher heating temperatures, reaching up to 285°C in Standard mode and up to 300°C in Boost mode, whilst maintaining 20 sessions from a single charge. Additionally, it enables a longer session time, with up to 4 minutes and 30 seconds in Standard mode.</p>

WHAT DOES IT MEAN?

<p>Hyper Pro devices are designed for fast charging. Your device will reach a full 100% charge in less than 90 minutes when using a 12.5W charger (5V2.5A or 9V1.5A) along with the USB-C cable, which supports the USB-PD protocol. This represents a significant improvement over previous generations of Hyper. </p> <p>In fact, you can achieve an impressive 80% charge in less than an hour. Even if your device completely runs out of power, it can be quickly replenished to deliver one full session in just 3 minutes and 15 seconds. However, we advise against letting your device's battery deplete completely to ensure prolonged battery life.</p>

HOW DO I REBOOT THE DEVICE ?

<p>To reset the device, keep the control button pressed for 22 seconds until the screen changes. The countdown will reset if the button is released before the end of the countdown. If the dial is not set to OFF, the product may run an incomplete session before it reboots. To perform the reset correctly, it is important to keep the button continuously pressed for 22 seconds.</p>

MY DEVICE IS HOT. IS IT SAFE TO USE IT?

<p>gloTM Hyper Pro is a heating device, so its surface becomes warm during operation, which is normal. The device has been tested for safety and has embedded protection mechanisms to prevent dangerous overheating. If you feel that the surface temperature has become painfully hot, stop using the device. Please refrain from using the device outside it’s recommended ambient temperature range (0-40C), as it may cause irreversible damage to the device and its battery.</p>

THE DEVICE DOES NOT WORK. SAND CLOCK IS DISPLAYED.

<p>Please do not worry, it is a recoverable error and will be self-resolved in a couple of minutes. If your device is too hot or you have just completed the previous session, please allow it to cool down. If your device has been exposed to cold temperatures (below 0C), please bring it to a warmer place or try warming the device in your hand for at least a minute. Do not use the device outside the recommended operating temperature range (0-40C).</p>

THE DEVICE DOES NOT WORK. THE DISPLAY SHOWS AN EXCLAMATION MARK AND A HAND.

<p>Your device software needs a reset. Please press and hold down the control button for 22 seconds until the screen changes. Countdown will reset if the button is released before end of the countdown. The product can also be reset manually by holding the control button for 22 seconds at any time. If the dial is not set to OFF, the product may run an incomplete session before it reboots. To perform the reset correctly, it is important to keep the button continuously pressed for 22 seconds.</p>

<p>You are using suboptimal charger, which may not be powerful enough to charge your device. Please replace it to the recommended charger (12.5W, 9V1.5A, 5V2.5A) and a USB-C cable supporting USB-PD. </p>

THE DEVICE DOES NOT LAST FOR MORE THAN 10 SESSIONS ON A SINGLE CHARGE. THE DISPLAY SHOWS AN EXCLAMATION MARK AND A QR CODE AND "BROKEN BATTERY" SIGN.

<p>Like most electronic devices, the Glo hyper pro device's battery capacity may gradually diminish over time. We recommend considering a replacement to ensure optimal performance.</p>

IS USING HYPER PRO LESS HARMFUL THAN SMOKING A REGULAR CIGARETTE?

<p>By heating rather than burning we are dramatically reducing the levels of toxicants in the [emissions/heated tobacco vapour] compared with a cigarette. There are 90% less toxicants in gloTM's aerosol compared to cigarette smoke. However, this product is not risk-free and does contains nicotine, an addictive substance. This is based on a comparison of smoke from a scientific standard reference cigarette (approximately 9 mg tar) and emissions from gloTM, in terms of the average of the 9 harmful components the World Health Organisation recommends to reduce in cigarette smoke. </p>

CAN I LIGHT MY neo™ STICK?

<p>No! Neo™ sticks should never be lit. It is created specifically for heating purposes.</p>

WHAT IS THE BEST WAY TO DISPOSE MY neo™ STICKS AFTER USE?

<p>You should always throw your used neo™ sticks in a suitable trash can. Make sure that the stick is not hot after use and has had time to cool down. The best solution would be to dispose them in a residual waste bin such as your household waste.</p>

WHY DIDN’T I RECEIVE AN EMAIL AFTER REGISTERING?

<p>After successfully registering on the website, you will receive an e-mail to verify your e-mail address. If you have not received this, check your spam folder.</p>

WHAT DO I DO IF I FORGOT MY PASSWORD?
